When cross-country or track is mentioned, most individuals say: “I can never do that, I'm too lazy” and leave it like that. But not Little Flower girls, especially the cross-country team. On October 24, 2024, the cross-country team ran in the District 12 meet at Belmont and won third place!
The team is filled with skillful and talented girls. Cara Mott led the team and finished 7th place. Athena Blome followed Mott soon after and placed 12th, and Eva Szczesny was right behind her and finished 13th overall; these girls crossed the line. Other members played a major role in gaining the win as well. Addison Conroy ran a season and was referred to as personal best finishing right before Lucy Thompson, who finished the number of points for team scoring.
Because of the finishes of Mott, Blome, and Szczesny earned them an opportunity to compete at the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) State championship in Hershey. When Athena Blome was asked what her favorite part about being on the team during the fall season and winning such a title, she said, “The girls on the team always push me to be better and make running more fun. Winning something like this shows that all the hard work the team put into this season paid off, and I could not be more proud of us.”
Congratulations to the cross-country team for winning third place in the District 12 meet at Belmont. They showed up and showed everyone how strong Little Flower girls are.
Tina the Turkey!

Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate tradition and history with the people whom you hold close to your heart. Unfortunately, not everyone has the financial means or the family to celebrate this special holiday. So, to recognize the people who are struggling during this festive season, Little Flower’s CSC holds its annual Tina the Turkey!
Tina the Turkey is a fundraiser that was created to raise money for individuals struggling to put a meal on the table for the holiday season. At lunch, a CSC member goes around with a bucket, and Tina the turkey, to ask the students to donate any spare change they might have from lunch. If change is donated, Tina will gobble for you! This is a fun way to get the student body involved with helping the less fortunate.
Once the money is collected, it is used to buy Turkeys which are later donated to organizations that help families in need. CSC also holds another fundraiser that gets the student body involved once more. They ask each class to donate specific items such as canned goods or boxed foods which are made into baskets and donated. Many students look forward to this holiday season. CSC member, Sadie McDermott had said Tina the Turkey is fun and a nice way to give back to the LF community and the people in need.
As the writers of The Theresian, we would like to wish you a happy autumn season and a safe break!
Autumn Poem

As September comes along, leaves begin to change.
Many colors appear brown, orange, and red.
It's not at all strange.
As hot weather leaves, we start to become cozy in our beds,
Watching movies, and spending time with friends.
